2011:
In the fall of 2011 an idea was hatched, to create a pub crawl. But not just a pub crawl. To use the crawl as a means to raise money for worthy causes. Planning and preparation began for the first annual Das Loop Charity Pub Crawl. The rest, as they say, is history.
2012:
The first annual crawl took place on February 4th, or Super Bowl Saturday, setting the precedent for the crawl to be the day before the Super Bowl.
150 t-shirts were made and sold, with the proceeds of $500 going to the Children's Dyslexia Center of Upper Wisconsin.
2013:
The second annual crawl saw a double in shirt sales, up to 300 participants. Once again the proceeds of $800 were donated to the Dyslexia Center of Upper Wisconsin in Eau Claire.
2014:
The third annual crawl introduced the policy of donating to a local youth with an uncommon or underfunded disorder. Tristan, an 11 year old boy with Alexanders Disease, a rare neurodegenerative disease that only affects children. Tristan's family used the $2,510 donation to help offset the cost of therapy and transportation. Once again 300 shirts were sold and donations from participating establishments helped raise funds.
2015:
For the fourth annual crawl: 350 shirts were sold and $3,360 was donated to an amazing boy named Trevor with Russell-Silver Syndrome.
2016:
The fifth annual crawl saw some major growth, both in terms of shirt sales and in monetary donation. 550 shirts were sold, coupled with the raffle and contributions from each establishment. This year's donation recipient was 18 month old Morgan, diagnosed with Opsoclonus Myoclonus Syndrome (OMS), a rare neurological disorder. We were able to donate an astounding $8,711 dollars to help Morgan and her family.
2017:
We donated to Ashlynn, an amazingly tough nine year old girl with the biggest heart and smile. At birth Ashlynn was diagnosed with Peters Plus Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder. Peters Plus has the largest impact on her vision, causing her to be legally blind, with shunts in both eyes for glaucoma.
2018:
On February 3rd we will be Crawling for a Cause, and donating to Sophi, with Rhobdomyosarcoma. Find us on Facebook and join!
